When did you come to Bali?
January 2014
Do you have family here? (We include your furry friends into this question).
For me having a family means to be part of something beautiful. Bali is magical island with beautiful people who live in it. And I am blessed to be part of Bali.
What brands have you worked for over the years?
I started my career as an hotelier in Bali with Ayodya Resort Bali. In 2015 I was one of the Gentlemen of Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud. Currently, I am looking after 2 amazing Marriott hotels in Nusa Dua; The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort and The St. Regis Bali Resort.
Nineteenth of March 2020. When you first heard of the Bali “stay at home” / #dirumahaja regulation what went through your head?
I thought the situation would be better in a few months and turned out it wasn’t.
What was your company’s reaction to this regulation?
New game plan!
How much longer did you work for the company?
I am fortunate to be transferred from Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve to The Laguna, a Luxury Collection Resort and The St. Regis Bali Resort in this situation.
What backup measures did you start putting in place when the writing was on the wall? (Covid 19 regulations were extended).
Covid made us realized that personal hygiene is SUPER important. Therefore as part of Marriott International hotels group, we are committed to providing a safe environment that aligns with Marriott commitment to clean protocol.
What was your mental state and how did you move forward into a more positive attitude?
It was scary actually, everything was uncertain. However life must go on by keeping myself busy with Tiktok, learning new skills, always be positive and come on I live in Bali, the best place in the world!
Finally, what are you doing now?
Very well, the never ending PSBB and PPKM has made me a foodie. Food is life!
