Possibly even before the arrival of the Woolworth twins, Charlie Chaplin and Miguel Covarrubias to the shores of Bali, cocktails have been created and crafted, mixed, brewed and blended to include some of the tastes and flavors of this archipelago and beyond. Influenced by eras, music, countries and characters, The Yak went out in search of the ultimate Bali cocktail, from Canggu to Jimbaran through Kuta to Nusa Dua, Petitenget, Ubud, to Ungasan! Of course we didn’t find just the one – we found a few, and these are those!
Queen of Hearts, Dern Ka La, and French Martini at The Shady Fox, Pererenan
Located in Pererenan, north Canggu, The Shady Fox is a cocktail parlour where glamour, roulette and late night entertainment invite you to surrender to a playful night of nostalgic fun. The Shady Fox transports you back to London in the 30s, in the heart of The Shady Family’s clandestine gambling operation. Knock at the right door, and you’ll find yourself in an illegal gaming room, testing your luck at classic games and sipping on some theatrical cocktails.
- Queen of Hearts: Distilled berry gin, cherry liquor, clarified lime, simple syrup, red wine

Located in fashionable Berawa, The Shady Pig is an ‘experimental sipping lounge’, inspired by the roughness and glamour of the 20s. The interiors transport you back in time to Birmingham, England, to the contraband laboratory of The Shady Family. Sticking to the prohibition concept, The Shady Pig is a speakeasy style lounge that has a strict password-only policy.

Kelapa Negroni at Sundara at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay
Sundara’s bartenders collaborated alongside the Four Seasons chefs in the kitchen on the home-infused cocktail menu, and are now using the new Kopa BBQ Smoker for these liquid creations. Top of the list and in pride of place, is the incredible Kelapa Negroni, aged in an old, hairless coconut husk and slow-smoked in the Kopa before being infused with the cocktail ingredients. This mix is then aged in the coconut shell for at least two weeks, putting a truly tropical twist on this classic.

Reeses Sour at Kuta Social Club

This time, their mixologist presents The Sea Margarita. Made from Jose Silver infused telang with triple sec, in addition to pineapple and moringa juice, this cocktail will give you a distinctive flavour with a touch of the archipelago – just what a Sea Margarita should do!
Ingredients: 450 ml of Jose Silver infused telang, 20 ml of triple sec, 30 ml of pineapple juice, 10 ml of lime juice, 5 ml of Agave nectar, and Moringa salt on rim

Gin Martini at Jati Bar at Four Seasons Sayan
Where nature meets culture, the bartenders at Jati Bar immerse guests with old time classics. Using locally sourced woods such as coconut, bamboo and teak they barrel-age cocktails, and with local terracotta casks they produce smooth, cohesive and complex flavours. This same terracotta technique is also used to slow-cook house-infused spirits and aromatic wines, honouring the traditional and local ways of ageing spirits. Enhancing a by-gone era bar classic, their Gin Martini is the first terracotta-aged Martini in Bali and undergoes a 42-day ageing process, which gives an earthy twist to this much-loved classic.

Created by one of TT’s most senior bartenders, Yellow Blast contains quality ingredients: white rum, lemon juice, passion fruit puree, passion fruit syrup, angostura bitters, foamee, and Pirates Citrus for the garnish.
Imagine the perfection that is built between these ingredients. Inspired by Christopher Columbus who crossed the world to discover new lands, this signature cocktail echoes that journey, the garnish as a ship on a yellow sea of light rum, lemon and passion fruit – all inspired by the sea views as seen directly from the shores of TT Beach Club.
