SPIRIT OF ART: EXPLORING BARTENDING, ART & TATTOO CULTURE
Spirit of Art is all about storytelling. It’s a glance into the secret lives of drink makers and a dive into the interlaced worlds of tattoo and mixology: a blend of creations, stories, passions and personalities. After the previous series of Spirit of Art – Tattooed Bartenders in Asia that launched in 2018, which covered the rich cocktail cultures of Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. This year would be the step that Giffard will take the movement further to other parts of the Asia continent.
Started first out on The Island of Gods – Bali, Indonesia with her mix of volcanic mountains, sandy beaches and greenery rice fields. We found Bali rich on diverse cultures and spiritual energy. A unique place on earth with many things to discover. It may not be surprising that bartenders also find their personal cultures and expressions through the ink on their skin, and to be willing to share their feelings and stories over the creative concoctions.
We are more than delighted to show you Spirit of Art by Giffard – Bali Tattooed Bartenders Serie, including 15 miscellaneous bartenders around the Island of Gods.
Join us through their journey on how they became bartenders in this generation, and their passion for mixology drove them a long way to where they stand.

The portraits and films of the bartenders were documented by talented Eddy Mulyawan and Gede Muliawan, both local born, with their experiences in photography and videography.
