The Joglo Cafe at Berawa is bringing back a popular food trend, the Indonesian Rijstafel. The Dutch created the tradition of banquet style Sunday luncheons during the Colonial times and since then the ‘rijstafel’ has all but disappeared from Indonesian restaurants.
The Dutch word rijstafel literally translates as ‘rice table’. The Joglo’s “rijstafel” serves rice accompanied with over 15 rich and exotic dishes from across Indonesia’s vast archipelago.
The idea is to embark on a culinary journey and sample the best regional foods that Indonesia has to offer.
Keeping to age old tradition, the Joglo Sunday brunch is held each week from 11AM- 2 PM. The rijstafel set menu is 115 K++ per person. Follow The Joglo’s Facebook and Instagram to keep updated on weekly promos and special offers.
