Bali, April 2017 … Music enthusiasts and especially in jazz can come to Griya Santrian beach front restaurant which offers the most welcoming atmosphere and best music here on earth. Whether you’re looking to celebrate something special or just enjoy some swinging tunes, you’ll hit the right note at this spot. April through May will present excellent performances by Indonesian leading artists including the UNESCO celebration of the International Jazz Day on April 30.
With jazz, blues, pop straight-ahead and fusion styles played by some of the city’s best musicians, Sunday Mostly Jazz by the Beach continues to entertain jazz and contemporary music enthusiasts. Griya Santrian is envisioning to be one of the few spots in Bali that include every ethnic group, local performers and jazzheads.
Together with Sanggar Musik Indra Lesmana, Griya Santrian presents several incredible jazz artists’ performances at our Griya Beach Club throughout the month of April and May. Immerse yourself in the beachfront décor and delicious drinks of our venue as you listen to the top list musicians, Indra Lesmana Group featuring artists Rika Roeslan from The Groove (April 16), Kayon featuring Indra Lesmana, Pra B Dharma, Gilang Ramadhan and Gustu Brahmanta Trio (April 30), Harvey Malaiholo (May 14) and Java Jazz featuring Indra Lesmana, Gilang Ramadhan, Donny Suhendra, Mates and Dewa Budjana (May 28).

Rieka Roeslan (Apri 16): Born in 1970, Rieka is a multi-talented musician known for her forte in Pop Contemporary, Acid-Jazz, and R&B. She joined as lead singer for the band The Groove and currently formed a focal group 5 Wanita with Andien, Nina Tamam, Iga Mawarni, and Yuni Shara.
Kayon (Aril 30): We will participating and joining UNESCO celebration on International Jazz Day. Presenting the rare – double trio – performance of Indonesian most powerful trio, Kayon trio features Indra Lesmana (piano), Pra B Dharma (bass), and Gilang Ramadhan (drums) and Bali origin – ethno jazz set by Gustu Brahmanta trio. Through this double trio format, they had access to freedom in their artistry and creativity to present their excellent musical art performance in ethnical nuances embedded in modern free jazz as they play modern/western music instruments with unique improvisations. Harvey Malaiholo (May 14): Harvey came from descendants of artist family, with his grandfather, jazz singer Bram Titaley and mother, Maudy Titaley. He is one of Indonesian leading singers who won many awards in many music festivals. He was inspired by famous performers such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Jackson. He started off with forming The Big Five, and was acknowledged together with great Indonesian singers such as Broery Marantika, Margie Segers, Trio Bimbo, Dedy Damhudi and Anna Mathovani.
Java Jazz with Indra Lesmana, Dewa Budjana, Gilang Ramadhan, Donny Suhendra, and Mates (May 28): Java Jazz is fusion jazz group formed by Indra Lesmana in the 90s. They have released 3 recording albums contain of Indra Lesmana’s outstanding and well known jazz compositions. After such a long period the group will again have a reunion and perform in a single concert on the Mostly Jazz Stage.
All these artists combine elements of jazz, pop and even Balinese music that is original and unique to each of their own style. A rich, powerful voice and infectious stage presence make them a natural for our Mostly Jazz stage.
