You might not possibly know that Chandi Bali was in fact the first roof top bar on Jl. Kayu Aya – many, many moons ago… A hotbed of cocktails and refreshing sounds, DJ’s and dancing.
Currently, whilst not totally back to “normal”, Chandi did indeed open its doors back in December, offering Chandi-ites those fabulous Pan Asian flavours with a twist.
From Fountain Lounge, through open air dining, to street-side terrace eating, Chandi is helping to bring Eat Street back to life again. Such positive comments about the cocktails, the food and service across social media platforms can’t all be wrong, right? So, we at The Yak decided to see if in reality things were getting back to normal!
Early dining was definitely a good idea, as the main, air-cooled dining area filled up rather fast, as did the fountain lounge and even the rooftop, currently open for diners only. (Fingers crossed the Chandi Rooftop Parties will be back in August).
Cocktails, or Chandi Concoctions, definitely are a hot item, as they are carefully crafted and have a Chandi signature to them, visually! Phone camera at the ready. Chill Cucumber Basil Cooler, Tamachillo Caipiroshka, Piña Mint Colada or Trio Berry Daiquiri… and the list goes on…
Food-wise, the menu has very generous meat, seafood and vegetarian sections, which should make everyone happy. And something we all love – a hot stone option!! Their Hot Stone Sate Platters are all the rage – meat, fish or veggies.
Other menu items; Scallops, Yellow fin tuna or Butterfish? Rib-eye, Tenderloin or Duck Betutu? Vegetarian sate, Purple eggplant curry or a Tempestuous arugula avocado salad? The menu is varied and the portions are generous!
The flavours take you from Bali to China to Australia – Pan Asian at its finest. Brasserie-style eating or relaxed fine dining – both descriptions are apt. Come ‘dressed up’ or just pop in for a bite to eat!
Open from 10am to midnight, with SIX hours of happiness – midday to 6pm – with a 2 for 1 deal all afternoon.
Other ongoing deals are the Beer Package – 4 bottle of Bali Hai for 100k and don’t miss the “Wine Weekend”, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, for the all-day wine package – selected imported wines for 500k/bottle!
I gather they claim to serve the best Coffee Espresso Martini in Seminyak? Now, that’s something we might just need to check in on when we return!
