OVERCOMING ADDICTION @ THE LIGHTHOUSE BALI
The Lighthouse Bali (Yayasan Bali Arkananta) is a non-profit residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre located in Sanur. Their mission is to provide help for addicts and alcoholics looking to embrace a life of recovery. To do this, they offer professional services for those seeking treatment and personalised programs that aim to treat each client holistically by healing the body, mind and spirit. HELPING CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES @ KOLEWA FOUNDATION
Kolewa Foundation is a non-government organisation based in the Netherlands, and since 2007 they have been working for a better life for Indonesian children in need. Their main activities include scouting children with cleft lips and palates and transporting them to Jakarta for surgery, training hearing impaired children, and gathering second hand hearing aids in the Netherlands and distributing them to both younger and elderly Indonesian people with hearing problems. PREVENTING THE SPREAD OF HIV @ BALI PEDULI
Bali Peduli was formed in 2011 by a group of concerned Bali residents under the guidance of Dr. Steve Wignall MD. Dr. Wignall is an HIV physician and clinical researcher; National Policy Advisor for M2M HIV policy to the Indonesian National AIDS Commission and Senior Medical Advisor to the Clinton Foundation’s efforts to increase access to treatment for HIV+ people in Papua Province. Yayasan Bali Peduli’s mission is to eliminate barriers to care and to provide free and early HIV testing and treatment to save lives and prevent the spread of HIV in Bali. BALI NIGHTS FUNDRAISER @ BALI STREET DOGS
If you happen to be in Melbourne in early October, be sure to make room in your schedule for the 10th annual Bali Nights, a cocktail party and fundraising auction that raises money to desex and treat thousands of street dogs and cats in Bali. This year Channel Nine’s Pete Smith will host Bali Nights with Nicky Buckley, and there will be fabulous finger food, drinks and door prizes on offer. Early bird tickets are AUD $70 and will be on sale until 23 September, and regular priced tickets are AUD $80.

With her talented team of medical professionals, they aim to reduce maternal and child mortality in Indonesia by providing general health services, emergency care, prenatal, postpartum and birth services and breastfeeding support.
