These are the Yaketeers we’re nominating for Yak Man Of The Year 2017. Who did you choose?

Josh Forrow

Josh Forrow is first on the Yak Man list, an incoming Brit who fell in love with the island and more importantly, the Bukit. With a few fingers in the F & B world of Bali, it’s his Ulu’s Cliffhouse that has impressed the island, not to mention Bestival 2017, Bali’s first two-day UK festival transported to tropical climes!

Andreas Bergel

Second up is a Taurean, German Yakker, Andreas Bergel who has been welcoming us to W Bali Seminyak for a few years now. Heading up the F & B department at one of Bali’s luxe resorts he brings proffessionality and charm to the role of Director of F & B. A popular guy around town, it is bikes, boats and diving bubbles that fuel his adventuresome spirit.

Shah Dillon

Our third Yaketeer is Shah Dillon, who has almost single-handedly changed the face of how we drink, increasing our love for what was once the simple cocktail. Under his proverbial belt, as well as 40Thieves, he runs Mad Ronin, and if that was not keeping him busy he is also co owner of Elite Bar Solutions and The Single Cask.

Detlev Hauth

Detlev Hauth, possibly the tallest, most charming man you could meet. Detlev, founding Casamoderno Interiors over a decade ago delivers quality precision design and has left his mark on interiors in Bali and beyond, in collaboration with some of the world’s top architects. More importantly in our eyes, he is an active Rotarian and he and his lovely wife Lusi have hosted weekly “at Home” lunches – raising many, many millions for the SMILE Foundation charity over the years. So if you would like to enjoy a homely brunch, with guest donations going to a very worthy cause, get in touch with Detlev.

Halim Asad Ardie

Last but not least … possibly the youngest nominee ever is Halim Asad Ardie, a relative newcomer to Bali but one with so much energy that he has impressed many within the music and charity worlds. A true entrepreneur, Halim turns his hand to many projects: he is editor and content creator at music portal We are Pulse, he manages The Joy Collective, Dj’ing at Wonderfruit Festival with Praia and travelling across Indonesia to understand more about the plight of the Orangutan as well as raising funds. And all round good guy that goes the extra mile.
